AS/NZS 4858: Wet Area Waterproofing Membrane Testing
AS/NZS 4858 is the primary Australian standard that relates to the physical performance properties of waterproofing membranes specified for use in wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundries and wet rooms, to prevent water ingress and protect structures from moisture damage.
Independent Testing Australia (ITA) is fully accredited to perform waterproofing membrane testing in accordance with the requirements of AS/NZS 4858 and provide NATA endorsed documentation.
ITA is equipped to conduct the following AS/NZS 4858 testing:
· ASTM E96: Moisture vapour transmission rate
· AS 3558.1: Water absorption
· AS 4858 appendix B: Acceptance of cyclic movement
· AS 4858 appendix A: Durability – water immersion / bleach immersion / detergent immersion / heat aging
